Welcome to the 7th Juan Gual Esteve Music Festival in Burriana! Founded in 2018 by flautists Eugenia Moliner and María Bernat, the Festival was born with the aim of paying tribute to the Burrianense musician Juan Gual Esteve, "el Gualet". The Festival is sponsored by the Magnificent City Council of Burriana, the company Sanycces, the Castellón Provincial Council and the generous contribution of Tom Baron from Chicago. The JGE Festival is an annual event that brings together professional musicians, students and national and international contestants, and offers a diverse program that includes concerts, music courses focusing on the flute, classical guitar and chamber music, as well as the International Competition, Flute and Guitar +. In this 7th edition in 2025, the Festival will feature the internationally renowned guitarist Denis Azabagic, founder of the Cavatina Duo and professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Guitarist Pedro Mateo, professor at the Katarina Gurska Higher Center and the Conservatori Superior de Música dels Illes Balears; Salvador Martínez, flute soloist with the Valencia Orchestra and professor at the Reina Sofía School in Madrid; Eugenia Moliner, international flutist, member of the Cavatina Duo and professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Luis Arias, collaborating pianist at the Reina Sofía School in Madrid; and María Bernat, flute professor at the Castellón Conservatory. Also participating will be the prominent Burriana horn player Santi Pla, principal horn of the Valencia Orchestra; Ana Vernia, pedagogue and researcher at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón; and Gemma Goday, flutist specializing in Baroque music and professor at the Vall d'Uixó Conservatory. Sunday, June 29th at 8:00 p.m. at Raco de l' Abadia, Inaugural Concert by the course teachers, Salva Martinez, Denis Azabagic, Eugenia Moliner, Luis Arias and Maria Bernat, as well as a special guest, the principal horn of the Valencia Orchestra, Santi Pla.
Friday, July 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the Juan Varea Hall, End-of-course concert by the students.
Sunday, July 6th at 7:00 p.m. at Raco de l Abadia, Final of the Flute and Guitar + Music
Flute and Guitar course as well as the Chamber Music Course , will take place from June 30th to July 4th at the Martí de Viciana Arts Center and is open to all levels. This course is a unique opportunity to perfect your musical skills.
